NEED SHELTER?
We are an emergency men’s shelter.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. Matthew 25:35-36

MINISTRY NEEDS
We’re so grateful for your ongoing support — your generosity helps us serve those in need and steward each gift well. Here’s how you can help most effectively:
Check Current Needs: Before collecting items in bulk or assembling "blessing bags," please reach out to Allison. She can guide you on what’s most needed.
Shop Our Wish Lists: Our Amazon Wish Lists let you purchase and ship items directly to us — though we gladly accept donations from any store.
Report Issues: If any wish list links are broken or items are out of stock, let Allison know, and she’ll get it fixed.
High-Need Items:
Bus Passes: Essential for transportation to jobs and appointments. Where to buy.
Men’s Long White Socks: New, quality socks (no Dollar Tree socks, please).
Men’s Underwear: New briefs/boxer briefs (M–3XL, no 2X needed).

Your donations and patronage provide financial support to the overall ministry of PRM and a safe space for our program men to learn valuable skills.

The House of Refuge is our Men’s Emergency Shelter, located at 3700 Huntington Ave. in downtown Newport News. Our doors are open 365 days a year to welcome men who find themselves without a home.
Life doesn’t always go as planned — jobs are lost, relationships break down, and sometimes one difficult choice can lead to hardship. But homelessness is rarely a choice. When the unthinkable happens, we want to be a place where these men can find safety, support, and hope.
