PRM Philosophy

A DEEPER LOOK

Mission Statement

We exist to serve the poor and needy, shelter the homeless, and share Christ with all that come our way.

Philosophy

Many groups work diligently to provide material help for the needy. There are also many whose work is to introduce people to God through faith in Christ. The Peninsula Rescue Mission is a ministry seeking to do both. We operate completely independent from the government in order that we might maintain our Christian distinctives.

Identity Statement

We are a beacon of hope to those experiencing homelessness and poverty on the Peninsula.

PRM Core Values

  • We believe the Gospel of Jesus Christ transforms lives.

  • We are committed to pointing those we serve to the Savior.

  • We are committed to being good stewards of all the resources entrusted to us.

  • We are committed to improve our services and operations in order to be most effective in Kingdom work.

  • We are committed to gospel partnerships as an extension of the local church.

  • We are committed to keeping Christ at the center of all we do.

Statement of Financial Accountability

Because PRM relies solely on donations to carry out our mission, it is important to share the financial accountability measures that are in place.

  • Board of Directors - The CEO of PRM reports to the Board of Directors. This is a volunteer group of men and women who are like-minded in their faith, love the work of PRM, and provide accountability and guidance to the leadership of PRM. The Board of Directors meets 5 times annually where they, among other tasks, examine the current financial statements.

  • PRM Treasurer (Board Officer) - Each month the PRM Treasurer examines the PRM’s Cash Disbursement Journal so that each financial transaction is seen by someone outside the PRM staff.

  • External Audit - Annually, PRM undergoes an external audit performed by a local CPA firm. This ensures outside accountability as well as keeps PRM up-to-date on best accounting practices for non-profits.
