Volunteer Agreement

Thank you for choosing to volunteer with us at PRM. When you come and serve our residents a meal it shows them that they matter! It is also a huge blessing and encouragement to our kitchen staff!


If you have not yet communicated with our volunteer coordinator, she will be in touch once you submit this form to line up a time for you to serve.

PRM Meal Volunteer Policies

  1. Confidentiality

    • No information about Mission Guests is to be given verbally or in writing to agencies or people outside the Mission, and no pictures are to be taken of Mission Guests without a signed release from appropriate staff and the Guest involved.

    • Volunteers are not permitted to disclose any form of information relating to our Guests or to the business of the Peninsula Rescue Mission (PRM), even after their service ends.

    • As part of your volunteer service, PRM reserves the right to check your driving and/or criminal background and contact necessary references. This information will only be disclosed to necessary staff that impact your volunteer service.

  2. Conduct

    • Please do not give the following to our Mission Guests:

      • Rides

      • Your contact information

      • Clothing

      • Cigarettes, Drugs or Alcohol

      • Gifts or Money

      • If a resident asks for something not listed above, please check with a staff member first.

    • Please do not consume alcohol, drugs, or any form of nicotine while on PRM premises.

    • Avoid using your phone or other non-essential electronics while on duty, unless an emergency arises.

    • Act in a moral, ethical and mature manner and avoid any action/communication that will damage the reputation of PRM.

    • We are always striving to improve our operations. Please be willing to comply with any procedure changes made by kitchen leadership.

    • Avoid becoming romantically or emotionally involved with PRM Guests.

    • Avoid using language that would be regarded by reasonable people as offensive.

    • Dress Code

      • No open-toed shoes or sandals

      • No sleeveless or low-cut tops

      • No yoga pants or short shorts

      • No clothing that has controversial printing or contains messages that are counter to PRM values

      • Leave personal belongings such as purses, wallets, coats, electronics, etc. in your vehicle or at home. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items that you bring onto PRM property.

    • Your shift will require you to be on your feet for two hours, walk up and down stairs, and to handle general lifting.

    • Please work the shift agreed upon between yourself and the Volunteer Coordinator and communicate any changes.

    • Please be aware that our residents may have criminal records including felonies and sexual offenses. For your safety, please to not give your personal information to any residents or resident staff members.

  3. Your status as a volunteer

    • PRM does not condone discrimination regarding race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexuality, age, disability, or veteran status. This applies to all staff, volunteers, Mission Guests, board members, visitors, and any other party present on PRM property. As a volunteer you are required to follow this policy.

    • You will not receive, by gift or by your own actions, any compensation, or goods for the services you provide.

    • As a volunteer, you give PRM permission to take photos for electronic media, newsletters, and any other public relations activity. You also give PRM permission to send marketing, fundraising, or other communication to you that is not directly tied to your volunteer service, via e-mail, telephone or postal mail using the information provided on your application. We will not sell or share your information.

    • As a volunteer, you will not be covered by any form of worker's compensation insurance through PRM. We will ensure safety precautions are being followed but as a volunteer you are accepting and understanding that there may be risks of injury, caused by yourself or someone else, while serving here and you are assuming that risk. PRM, its staff and other associated parties on premises are not liable for any injury or disease (including COVID) or economic loss or damage resulting from the actions or inactions of the Mission and you hereby waive and release the Mission from any such liability.

    I agree to the above terms and conditions. I understand that these policies are in place for the safety of the volunteers, guests, and staff of PRM. If I am in violation of them, I understand that I can be immediately dismissed from volunteer service for PRM. If I fail to show up and do not notify my group leader or the volunteer coordinator, I may not be allowed to serve in the future.
